Payments → By Location is where you check a week before you pay it. It answers three questions, top to bottom.
1. What needs a look
A strip near the top counts anything worth checking — people with no pay rate set, anyone who went into overtime, and shifts on a public holiday or weekend. Tap a count to show only those people, and tap it again (or Show all) to go back.
When there is nothing to fix it turns green and says Everything looks right for this week.
2. What the week costs
Four figures, each labelled in plain English:
- Gross pay — what your staff earned, before tax.
- PAYG withheld — the tax you send to the ATO.
- Super — superannuation on ordinary hours.
- Total cost to you — gross plus super. This is the number that leaves your account.
3. Who worked where
Each location shows its people straight away — no need to open anything. For every person you see their hours, their gross pay, and their pay basis and rate.
Anyone who did not work that week is grouped at the bottom of their location, with a line saying how many there are. Tap Show to see them. Nobody is ever hidden without being counted.
Setting a pay rate
- Type the amount straight into the rate box on that person's row.
- Choose Hourly, Daily or Weekly next to it.
- A bar appears at the bottom telling you what changed. Press Save to keep it, or Discard to undo.
Someone with no rate yet shows Needs a rate instead of a total, because their pay cannot be worked out until you set one.
Seeing the detail
Press View on any person to open their full breakdown: how the pay was worked out line by line, every shift day by day, an explanation of the calculation, their rate history, and any adjustments. Close it and you are back where you were in the list.
Tips
- Fix the red No pay rate items first — nothing else totals correctly until they are set.
- Use the search box to jump to one person when you have a lot of staff.
- Nothing is saved until you press Save, so you can change your mind freely.
