Summary
Most Australian businesses run their payroll through Xero or MYOB. NestedClock doesn't replace your accounting software — it feeds it the hours, rates, and adjustments it needs, so you're not manually re-entering timesheet data every pay run.
How it works
NestedClock calculates your weekly payroll (ordinary hours, overtime, penalties, allowances, deductions, super, and PAYG) then exports a file that your accounting software can import directly. No copy-paste, no spreadsheets in between.
Exporting to Xero
- Go to Payments → Export.
- Select the week you want to export.
- Choose Xero CSV format.
- Click Download.
- In Xero, go to Payroll → Pay Runs → Import Timesheets and upload the CSV.
The Xero format includes: Employee name, Earnings Rate, Hours, and Date — matching Xero's timesheet import template.
Exporting to MYOB
- Go to Payments → Export.
- Select the week.
- Choose MYOB CSV format.
- Click Download.
- In MYOB, go to Payroll → Process Payroll and import the file.
The MYOB format includes: Last Name, First Name, Payroll Category, Units, Rate, and Amount.
Generic CSV export
If you use a different system (KeyPay, Employment Hero, etc.), the Generic CSV contains all data broken out by category — you can map the columns to your software's import format.
Tips for a smooth workflow
- Match staff names exactly. Your accounting software matches by name. Ensure "John Smith" in NestedClock is "John Smith" (not "J Smith") in Xero/MYOB.
- Run the Pre-Payroll Checker first. It catches missing rates, unresolved clock-outs, and anomalies before you export — saving you from importing bad data.
- Export after approving adjustments. Any time corrections, allowances, or deductions should be finalised before you download the export.
- Keep one export per week. NestedClock tracks payroll runs, so you have an audit trail of what was exported when.
