The NestedClock AI Assistant isn't a generic chatbot. It's connected to your actual business data — staff records, timesheets, rosters, pay rates, leave, messages, and more. Ask a question in plain English and get a real answer in seconds.
Here's everything it can do, organised by what you'd actually ask during your workday.
Staff & Attendance
The questions you ask every morning:
- "Who's working right now?" — see every staff member currently clocked in, which location they're at, and when they started
- "Who was late this week?" — compares actual clock-in times against rostered start times, shows exactly how many minutes late
- "Who forgot to clock out?" — finds shifts with a clock-in but no clock-out (over 16 hours ago)
- "Who hasn't worked this week?" — cross-references all staff against shifts to find who had zero hours
- "List all staff" — shows every active staff member with their assigned locations and roles
Pay & Hours
The questions you ask before payroll:
- "How much should I pay James?" — calculates estimated gross pay based on actual hours worked and their pay rate
- "Weekly payroll summary" — all staff pay estimates for the week, with hours, rates, and flags
- "Monthly summary" — total hours, estimated pay, shift count, and top earners for the month
- "What's James's pay rate?" — looks up the current hourly rate for any staff member
- "Who worked the most hours?" — ranks staff by hours worked in any date range
- "What are our pay rules?" — overtime thresholds, penalty rates, super, PAYG and break settings
- "Show this week's adjustments" — allowances, deductions, bonuses and reimbursements
- "Has payroll been approved?" — payroll run status (draft, reviewed, approved, exported, released)
- "What's Sarah's rate history?" — every pay-rate change with effective dates
- "Any open payslip queries?" — unresolved payslip disputes raised by staff
All pay figures are labelled as estimates. Always review before finalising payroll.
Roster & Schedule
- "Who's rostered tomorrow?" — shows all scheduled shifts for any future date
- "Roster vs actual" — compares what was scheduled against what actually happened — no-shows, late starts, early finishes
- "Who's available Saturday?" — checks availability and leave records to show who can work
Locations
- "Show all locations" — lists every location with staff count, timezone, and assigned team
- "Which location is busiest?" — compares locations by hours worked, shift count, and estimated cost
Leave & Availability
- "Who's on leave?" — shows all leave requests grouped by status (pending, approved, rejected)
- "Who's available this week?" — combines availability records with approved leave to show who's free
Messages, Alerts & Admin
- "Any pending actions?" — shows unresolved staff messages and pending leave requests
- "Staff messages" — recent messages from staff, both resolved and unresolved
- "Any time adjustments?" — shows recent admin edits to clock times
- "Who gets roster emails?" — lists staff subscribed to roster email delivery
- "Any long breaks?" — finds shifts where breaks exceeded the threshold
How It Works
You type a question. The AI reads your question, decides which data it needs, queries your business database, and writes a clear answer. It uses 31 specialised tools — each one designed for a specific type of question.
The AI never guesses. If it doesn't have the data to answer your question, it says so. If a question is ambiguous, it asks for clarification.
What It Can't Do
The AI Assistant is read-only. It cannot create shifts, add staff, approve leave, or change any data. For actions, use the Agentic AI — our separate tool that takes actions with your confirmation.
It also can't show photos (they're visual), export files (that's a UI action), or give legal/tax advice.
Security
- Only accessible to admins and managers — never to clock-in staff
- Can only see data for your business — no cross-tenant access
- All processing happens on Australian infrastructure
- Your data is never used to train AI models
- 125 requests per week included, with a combined best-effort weekly cost safety guardrail
